BART: At
the vanguard of health food marketing and vegetarianism, Bart Potenza has written
and lectured on diet and health since the mid-1970s. He has become
a major spokesperson for the health food industry.
After studying at New York City College's Business School, Bart became
a successful art dealer. He then made a career change and was the manager
of a health food store in his Upper East Side neighborhood.
Bart owned and operated Sunny's, a local juice bar and retail shop. After extensive
renovations, it became The Healthy Candle, which was a very busy and popular
health food cafe for 13 years. In 1994, customer demand again prompted expansion.
Bart and his partner, Joy Pierson, opened The Candle Cafe, which has been highly
successful since the day it opened.
In addition to his managerial expertise, Bart provides a wealth of inspiration
and information through his daily aphorisms, which he shares on the
voice recorded "on hold" phone system. The
success of the Candle Cafe proves Bart's original assertion which is that super
healthy vegetarian food is the wave of the future. |
